Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
Macdonald Sager LLP embraces diversity and inclusion both at our firm and in the community because we believe it makes us a better firm for our team members and for our clients. We believe in retaining the best and brightest at our firm, regardless of gender, race, nationality, ethnic origin, creed, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, gender identity or disability, and we are committed to creating and maintaining an open, inclusive, and flexible culture to meet the evolving needs of our most important asset – our people.
Current Initiatives
We are proud of the initiatives we have implemented as we strive toward our goal of being an inclusive and diverse organization:
Diversity Leadership
To help champion our firm’s diversity goals, Macdonald Sager has formed a dedicated Diversity & Inclusion team, consisting of firm members at all levels. Guided by our Diversity & Inclusion Policy, the team has implemented a number of successful initiatives and awareness campaigns. The team meets regularly to explore and plan new programs and activities that support all aspects of a diverse and inclusive environment.
Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI)
Macdonald Sager is proud to be an Employer Partner with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI). The CCDI is a made-in-Canada solution designed to help employers, diversity and inclusion/human rights/equity, and human resources practitioners effectively address the full picture of diversity, equity and inclusion within the workplace.
Law Firm Diversity and Inclusion Network (LFDIN)
Macdonald Sager is proud to be a member of the Law Firm Diversity and Inclusion Network (LFDIN), a group of Canadian law firms working together to promote diversity and encourage a culture of inclusion in our firms and the broader legal profession. As a member of the LFDIN, we're committed to its Statement of Principles.
Educating our Firm about Accessibility
Macdonald Sager aims to provide a barrier-free environment for our team members, clients, vendors, potential applicants and any visitors who may enter our premises or use our services. We believe that awareness is key to maintaining a safe and open work environment. As a result, have implemented mandatory eLearning about accessibility for persons with disabilities and ensure we are current on accessibility issues and best practices.
