Amanda Smyth has a passion for client contact and understands the importance of customer service in the field of law. She takes a keen interest in her clients’ legal dealings while delivering effective solutions that help them achieve their goals.
She is an associate in the firm’s Commercial and Residential Real Estate Group and the Wills, Trusts & Estates Group.
In her real estate law practice, Amanda acts for buyers, sellers, as well as institutional and private lenders, in all matters relating to commercial and residential real estate. She has developed considerable expertise in complex title matters and can facilitate severance applications, minor variances, and easement registrations. She also assists Lenders and Borrowers with larger refinancing and private mortgage transactions.
As a member of the Wills, Trusts & Estates Group, Amanda assists a variety of clients with estate planning, will drafting and administration and estate conveyancing. Amanda works closely with her clients in order to accomplish their personal objectives while avoiding adverse consequences that may potentially arise in the future.
Prior to attending law school in Australia, at Bond University School of Law (2008), Amanda obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Wilfrid Laurier University (2006). Amanda was called to the New South Wales Bar in 2010 and then returned home to be called to the bar of Ontario in 2011.
Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys spending time at their cottage in Haliburton, Ontario, with her husband, two children and extended family.
