Matthew Himmel

Bio

Matthew is an associate in the Corporate Commercial and Real Estate group at Macdonald Sager LLP with a particular focus on banking & financial services.

Matthew acts for a number of banks, credit unions, private lenders and borrowers on a variety of commercial transactions, including asset-based lending, real estate financing, syndicated credit facilities, and construction financing. He also has experience advising on share/asset purchase and sale transactions, corporate re-organization and general corporate governance.

Matthew joined the firm as an associate in 2021, after completing his articles at a full-service firm in the Toronto area. Matthew is a graduate of the dual law program offered by the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Matthew graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Outside of the office, Matthew enjoys spending his time on a golf course or hockey rink, watching sports, travelling to new places, or trying new restaurants.
